Mr.
Isaac Williams
Mr.
Isaac Williams died at his home in Port Rowan on Tuesday afternoon,
April 26th, in his seventieth year.
He had been gradually failing
since the early autumn, but no one looked for the end just yet.
He
was one of the oldest members of the Port Rowan Baptist Church, with
which he was connected from early manhood, and was during his whole
life a faithful standard bearer and upholder of the ancient doctrines
of his church.
He was a
son of the late Colonel Titus Williams who played so conspicuous a
part in the war of 1812, and saw more active service and knew more
about the hardships of war than any other soldier of Norfolk.
Mr.
Isaac Williams was born on lot 18 in the township of Walsingham, where
his father settled in 1827. He has two brothers in the neighbourhood
at present, Nelson and Charles L. Mrs. J. H. Davis is a sister, and so
is
Mrs. A. D. Bradt. He leaves a widow, a daughter of Mr.
James
Peach sr., two sons, Chancy and Frank; and five daughters, Mrs. J.
Fick, Mrs. Sellers, Mrs. W. Smith,
Mrs. M. Moulton, and Mrs. W.
Pickard.
He lived all
his life on the farm on which he was born, but not in the old
homestead.
