Death of Norfolk-born Man

A highly respected citizen of Malahide, in the person of Edgerton Ryerson Widner, died at his late home in Orwell, on Sunday mornin, [sic] September 17, in his 82nd year.

Deceased was the eldest son of the late Jeremiah and Ann Widner, and was born in Windham, comin, [sic] to Malahide, with his parents, when they settled 2½ miles north of Aylmer.

In 1865 he was married to Miss Emeline Cutler and lived on the farm on the 9th Concession of Malahide. 

He was a life-long member of the Methodist Church, and loved his church and Bible. In politics he was a staunch Conservative and a great temperance advocate.

Owing to poor health he retired from the farm about two years ago and with his estimable wife moved to Orwell.

He leaves to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father his widow and three sons, Edward, Frank and John, all of Malahide, and one daughter, Mrs. Frank Millard of Luton.

Also two brothers, John W. of San Francisco, Cal.; Adolphus of Bryan, O[hio]; and two sisters, Mrs. Peter Kennedy of Richmond, and Mrs. James Moore of Belmont, survive. -- Aylmer Express.
