Items of Local Interest

Shortly before midnight Saturday, July 21st, a long residence in Simcoe was terminated by the death of Mrs. Weston, Colborne Street north, widow of Mr. Richard Weston, who formerly conducted a tannery here and latterly held the position of market clerk. 

Mrs. Weston was in her 90th year.

She had lived for a long period with her daughter, Miss Ella Weston, secretary-treasurer of H. S. Falls Company.

Other children are George of Toronto, a well-known travelling representative of the Aikinhead Hardware Co.; 
Edward [sic] of New York;
Harry of the Maple Leaf Paving Co., Simcoe;
Mrs. Annie Scott of Hamilton, and 
Mrs. Elizabeth Johnstone of Spokane.

Mrs. Weston was born Bessie White, and her mother became the second wife of Simcoe pioneer, Geo. Jackson, whom many McKiee's, McCool's and Jacksons of this day call grandfather.
