Died in Delhi

On Thursday evening Mrs. Fred Stipe passed away at her late home on Wellington street, Delhi. For some time past the failing health of Mrs. Stipe has been the cause of concern to her friends. But skill and care proved unavailing to arrest the inroads of her ailments, and Thursday evening her gentle spirit peacefully passed to its rest.

Mrs. Stipe was a native of Norwich and was in her 49th year. Deceased was a member of the Delhi Methodist church and a useful and active member in fraternal societies. More especially will she be missed in the Rebekah lodge. In this society she has worked unremittingly since it was organized in Delhi, and has held various offices.

She leaves a sorrowing husband, two daughters, Ethel and Nellie; and two sons, Charlie and Harry, all of whom are at home. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stover of Norwich, and a family of seven brothers and sisters survive. Her demise is the first which has severed the family chain.

The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon at two o'clock. Many of her friends, not only [from] Delhi, but from places miles from here, were in attendance at the impressive services to contribute their last respects to their true friend who had departed.

There was a profusion of beautiful floral offerings, which again attested how estimable Mrs. Stipe was regarded by her host of friends. -- Delhi Reporter.
