The following is a partial transcription of an article in the 2 Mar 1910 British Canadian. Narrow Escape of Miss Juanita Steinhoff A Columbus, Ohio journal contains the following, which refers to Mr. W. S. Steinhoff, son of the late Abraham Steinhoff, (who married Miss Mary Morris,) and their daughter Juanita: -- Eighteen year old Juanita Steinhoff's dreams that a burglar was to shoot her nearly came true, when a desperado, after holding up her father, W. S. Steinhoff, in his drug store at Third and Pennsylvania Avenues, sent a bullet whistling past the girl's head, so close that it clipped part of her eyebrow... Two men held up Steinhoff and a customer, Emmett Hendrick, 1167 Michigan Avenue, at the muzzle of pistols. The girl's intercession gave Hedrick a chance to grapple with his man, and this and her screams frightened the two men away. One of the men as he left turned with an oath and fired point blank at the girl, who was only six feet away. The bullet, after grazing her head buried itself in the wall.
