An organization was formed with J. DeWitt Price, President, and J. F. Brock, Sec.-Treas. A number of our local horsemen were present at the meeting and a sweepstake Trotting Race for 2 year olds was arranged for, conditions as follows:

 -- Race to be trotted half mile heats, best 2 in 3, entrance fee $5, first deposit of $2 to be paid to the Secretary on or before May 1st, balance of entrance to be paid on or before June 20th. Money to be divided as follows, 1st prize 50 per cent of purse, 2nd 30 per cent, 3rd 20 per cent.

The following entries for the above race have already been made and first deposit paid:

Wm. Nixon's "Lady Benedict," sired by Benedict;

All entries for the above race must be made on or before the 1st of May.
Parties having colts to enter should communicate with the Secretary at once. The meeting was adjourned until the evening of May 1st, when committees will be appointed and arrangements made for other races, etc.
