Thomas Allen Spencer

Death came with startling suddenness to Thomas Allen Spencer at his home in Waterford early Monday morning, 25 May 1936.

Mr. Spencer has been in indifferent health for some time, but it was not considered serious, and he was able to continue his work at Penmans factory, Waterford, where he had been employed since the firm first commenced operation here.

He had retired as usual Sunday night but awakened about midnight, and died almost immediately. A doctor was called but he found that life was gone.

Mr. Spencer was born in Charlotteville on 27 Feb 1875, and was a son of the late Morrison Spencer and his wife Jane Wood.

He is survived by his wife, formerly Ruth Kitchen, and two brothers, Messrs. William and Herb. Spencer of Simcoe.

Mr. Spencer was an active member of the Waterford Baptist Church, and a faithful attendant.

The funeral service was held on Wednesday afternoon at 2.30, from his late home on Mechanic Street, in charge of his pastor, Rev. Dr. A. H. Fromow. Interment was made in Greenwood Cemetery, Waterford.
