Death of Mrs. Robertson

Died at Windham Centre on Tuesday, January 10, 1899, Jean, wife of the late Charles Robertson, aged 84 years.

Mrs. Robertson, whose maiden name was Jean Reid, was born in Perthshire, Scotland, and with her husband, came to Canada in 1843, living one year in Waterford, where Mr. Robertson worked for the late James L. Green, Esq.

Thence removing to Vanessa, where they lived two years and then settled in 1846, on the homestead near Windham Centre, where she lived until her decease.

"Aunt Jean," as she was generally called, was thrifty, industrious, and charitable. Many a poor person received aid from her hands.

She leaves four sons to cherish her memory: -- Charles in British Columbia, Peter at Barrow Bay, James at Stoney Creek, and Oliver of Windham Centre.

Her funeral took place in the Presbyterian Church (of which she was a member), at Windham Centre, on Thursday. The services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Mr. Currie.
