Death of Mrs. S. R. Hesson

There died rather unexpectedly in Stratford on Tuesday, April 13th, Mrs. Margaret Jane Hesson, wife of S. R. Hesson, ex-Mayor of Stratford, and ex-M.P.P. for North Perth. About a week before her death, Mrs. Hesson met with an accident whereby she suffered a broken hip. Mrs. Hesson went to Stratford from Simcoe as a bride in 1855.

The deceased was before her marriage Miss Margaret Jane Polley of Toronto, being born in the Queen City in 1831. She was thus 78 years and one month of age to a day. In 1855 she was married to Mr. Hesson in Simcoe, and went immediately to Stratford with her husband, who had been in Stratford since 1843.

Besides her husband deceased is survived by three daughters and two sons. They are Mrs. Harry Symonds, Toronto; Mrs. Gerville Morgan, Toronto; Miss Fannie, at home; Fred H., Winnipeg, and Chas. A., St. Catherines. Eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, as well as one brother survive. The surviving brother is A. Y. Polley, Simcoe.
