An unedited transcription of a page 1 article from 9 Jun 1898 Waterford Star Where is Owen's New Book This question is being asked every day by many people in Norfolk. Those who placed early orders were promised the book long ere [sic] this and they don't understand why it has not made its appearance. |
An unedited transcription of a page 1 article from 24 Nov 1898 Simcoe Reformer. E. A. Owen's Book An advance copy of E. A. Owen's book "Pioneer Sketches of Long Point Settlement" has reached the Reformer table from the publisher William Briggs, of Toronto. The book is well printed, substantially bound and altogether presents a most prepossessing appearance. A review of it is necessarily delayed for a future issue. Mr. Owen was in town on Monday on his way to Waterford, from which point he will deliver his Townsend orders. It will be some days before he will make his Simcoe deliveries. The edition, which will be the only one, consists of fifteen hundred copies of which almost twelve hundred are already sold. Parties who have any desire to possess the book should not delay in securing one. In a very short time it may be everlastingly too late. |
