Death of George A. Olmstead

The sad news of the passing of Mr. George A. Olmstead came to the Villa Nova community on Friday, February 29th, 1924.

Although Mr. Olmstead has been in failing health for some time, yet he was confined to his bed only five days.

The deceased was born in 1854 on the old Olmstead homestead at Boston, Townsend Township. About forty years ago he cam to Villa Nova where he has resided continually ever since.

Although there were several members in his father's family, yet all have preceded him save one brother, Hiram, who at present lives in Saskatchewan.

Mr. Olmstead was married twice. His first wife was Rocheline Cunningham, who died in 1887. After some years he married Carrie Sensebaugh, who died about five months ago.

The family consisted of seven children of whom three are dead and four are living. The latter are: H. F. Olmstead of Hagersville; Herbert Olmstead of Tonawanda, U.S.A.; 
Mrs. Frank Thompson, Bancroft, Ont. and 
Clara Lazelle of Villa Nova.

The service was held at the home on Monday, March 3rd. ...
