Death of Mrs. Walker Messecar

Mrs. Walker Messecar died at her home in this place on Friday, 9 Jun 1916. She bore an illness of a year with patience and fortitude and passed peacefully away.

Her maiden name was Mary A. Chart and she was born in Holley, N.Y., in 1838.

She married Mr. Walker Messecar 62 years ago and to them were born three sons, Ernest of Townsend, Delbert (deceased), and Dr. Fred of New York, and one daughter, Mrs. J. A. Sutherland of New York [sic], all of whom, with the husband, have the sincere sympathy of a wide circle of friends.

Mrs. Messecar was of a quiet, unassuming nature, and her greatest pleasures were in home duties. She was a member of the Waterford Baptist Church.

The funeral was held Monday afternoon, services being conducted by
Rev. E. R. Fitch, B.A., B.D., assisted by
Rev. W. H. Porter, M.A. There were many beautiful floral offerings as tributes of esteem.

Those present from out of town were:

Mr. and Mrs. John Porter and
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Cutting of Simcoe
