Mr. and Mrs. Mason have Golden Anniversary

On May 1st, Mr. and Mrs. Walter E. Mason celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at their old home in Townsend. Of their seven children, Sarah, a girl of 11, passed away many years ago, but the other six:
Wm. E. of Townsend, Mrs. J. A. Wallace of Simcoe, Wallace H. of Townsend, Mrs. F. Farrow of Hamilton, Mrs. Ward Kiball of Hyde Park, and Mrs. G. A. Ronson of Parkhill, all spent the day in the old home with their parents, returning with their families and 18 of the 21 grandchildren.

This day was also the 21st anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace, and the 11th for Mr. and Mrs. Ronson, and almost an anniversary for Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Mason, who were married 18 years on May 4th.

Mr. Fred Stuart, Mr. Wallace E. Mason and Mrs. George Erwin were the only guests present at the wedding 50 years ago.

After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Mason engaged in farming, settling on the old Mason home in Townsend -- but in 1890 Mr. Mason was ordained at Cheapside and for many years was actively engaged in the Baptist ministry. serving as pastor at Cheapside, Selkirk, Hartford, Tyrrell, Bloomsburg, Eden, Goshen, Courtland, Hagersville, Mt. Brydges and Lobo, but failing health caused him to retire to the old farm home again, which has been cared for by his two sons all these years.
