Mrs. James A. Forrest

A lifelong resident of the district, Mrs. James A. Forrest of Vittoria died Thursday at the Johnson Nursing Home in Port Dover, following a lengthy illness, in her 84th year.

The former Carlotta Mabee, deceased was born in Charlotteville, daughter of the late Ira Mabee and Martha Jane Stitt. She attended Tisdale Public School in Charlotteville and Simcoe High School, and was married in Simcoe in 1912. 

Mrs. Forrest, who spent most of her life at Vittoria, with a few years in Simcoe, was a member of the Vittoria Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.

Besides her husband, she leaves one sister, Mrs. Nora M. Austin of Simcoe. A son, James Wesley, died as a child.

Resting at the Marvyn M. Veale Funeral Home for service on Saturday at two o'clock with Pastor Robert Roberts of Vittoria Baptist Church officiating and interment in Oakwood Cemetery.

James Arthur Forrest

James Arthur Forrest, 83, resident of Vittoria and district all his life, died Friday at the St. Williams Nursing Home, after a lengthy illness.

Born at Vittoria, he was a son of the late Albert Forrest and Jane Schram. He attended Vittoria public school and farmed in Charlotteville most of his life, retiring 13 years ago.

His wife, the former Carlotta Mabee, whom he married in Simcoe, 12 Apr 1912, predeceased him in January, 1959.

Mr. Forrest was a member of Vittoria Baptist Church.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Albert Wood (Clara) of St. Williams, and Mrs. Francis Beemer of Petrolia.

Service from the Marvyn M. Veale Funeral Home this afternoon at 2 p.m., with Rev. James Managhan officiating and interment in Oakwood Cemetery.
