A lightly edited partial transcription of the Items of Local Interest column on page 9 of the
29 May 1919 issue of the Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

The funeral took place on 20 May 1919 from the residence of his brother-in-law Creighton Kaufman in Hamilton, of Ernest Hilliard, a well known resident of Simcoe.

Deceased, who was in his 30th year, had been ailing for some time, but his trouble was not thought to be serious until a few weeks ago, when in spite of all that loving care could do, he passed quietly away.

He had only been married within the last year, his wife being before her marriage Miss Jessie Charlton of Toronto.

He will be missed by all who knew him, as he had a large circle of friends, as the funeral and floral tributes testified.

Besides his widow he leaves to mourn his loss two sisters Mrs. Alex Glenn of Buffalo and Miss Lilian of Cobourg, and four brothers, William H. of Rochester, N.Y., Charles of Jarvis, Edwin C. of Cobourg, and Harold of Simcoe. His mother also survives.
