A lightly edited partial transcription of the Port Rowan column on page 2 of the 11 Dec 1919 issue of the Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

By the death of Peter Brown, which took place at his residence in this village last Sunday, we lose a citizen noted for his integrity and noble Christian character. Deceased  was a son of the late Deacon Isaac Brown, and was born on the old homestead, east of the village, 83 years ago.

Soon after his marriage to his first wife, they settled on a farm near Rowan Mills, where he always lived and done his own work up till one year ago. He moved here recently to spend his remaining days, which proved to be few.

Mr. Brown was a member of our Baptist Church when it was build 60 years ago, and was probably the last living link between the old church and the present one.

He was married three times and is survived by three sons and one daughter by his first wife: George of Port Stanley, Herbert and Everett of Duluth, Minn., and Edith at home; and one son by his second wife,
Dewitt of Erie View. He is also survived by his third wife.
His surviving brothers are: Isaac, Isaiah and Emerson of Port Rowan, George of Port Royal, and Mrs. J. C. Becker of Vancouver.

The funeral which was largely attended, was held in the Baptist Church, where the deceased was a deacon for many years. The pastor, Rev. J. M. Smith, preached a very effective sermon befitting the occasion. Interment took place in Bayview Cemetery in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends.
