Introduction | Source Documents | Other Sources | Photocopies | Back

A lightly edited partial transcription of the Bookton column on page 5 of the 5 Jun 1919 issue of the Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

An old and familiar figure that was well-known in this section passed away to the better land on Tuesday, 27 May 1919, in the person of Mrs. Hosea Boughner.

Seldom within the recollection of the people of this section has there been a deeper gloom thrown over the entire community than was produced by the demise of this estimable lady.

Long will her numberless good qualities be remembered by those whose good fortune it was to have known her when in the full possession of health and vigor.

The rare richness and profusion of the floral offerings surpassed in magnificence anything of the kind ever witnessed in this section of the country.

Rev. F. Barnett of Norwich, who lately returned from overseas, and who was a personal friend of the deceased officiated at the funeral.

The deceased lady leaves an affectionate husband and one sister, Mrs. Wallace Elliott, to whom the sincere sympathy of the who community is extended.
