Obituary.

WOODLEY -- Philip Woodley, for many years a deacon on the active list of the Waterford Baptist church, passed away at his late home on 27 Feb 1901.

Although residing in the country, he was up to his last illness a faith attendant of the house of worship, his place rarely being vacant.

Brother Woodley was baptised and received into the Boston Baptist church in 1865, and from 1869 until his removal to the Waterford church, in 1870, he served faithfully as deacon.

After years of service in the Waterford church as deacon, he retired from active servic, holding the position of honorary deacon until his death.

The last three years of his life were clouded by partial paralysis, but he was never heard to complain, and his faith was never shaken.

He leaves a faithful wife and a large family of worthy sons and daughters, who bear before the world the stamp of his sterling character and Christian worth.
