Death came with
startling suddenness to Mrs. John Crandall of Mabee on
Wednesday evening, 2 Apr 1919.
While she had been in
poor health for some time past, she was able to attend to her
household duties.
At five o'clock she was
in the stable, talking to her husband, and went to the house
to prepare supper.
After finishing up the
chores, Mr. Crandall went to the house and found his wife
lying dead upon the floor.
Death had apparently
come but a few moments previous, as the body was still warm.
She is survived by her
husband, three sisters, Miss Lizzie Willits of Mabee,
Mrs. J. N. Caswell of Toronto, and
Mrs. I. S. Ostrander of St. Thomas, and
one brother, Claude.
She was in her 42nd
year. Her death occurred on the 24th anniversary of her
wedding.
The funeral took place
on Friday to Bethel church, where service and interment took
place.
