James Hartfield Wardell

After a hard fight with typhoid fever for over six weeks, James Hartfield Wardell, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wardell of Boston passed into the great beyond at the early age of 21 years, on Friday morning, 14 Dec 1917.

With all his friends Jim was a great favorite because wherever he went he carried Joy and sunshine. To know him was to love and respect him for the sturdy qualities of character which made him a true man.

No homecoming could have made the community more sad, tho we sorrow not without hope for the young life was committed to the Master's care.

The funeral services were conducted on Sunday afternoon in the Boston church.

The casket was carried to its final resting place in Greenwood cemetery by six young men, Messrs. Harold Shay, Clifford Lewis, Clarence Rusling, Oscar Birdsell, Roy Sanderson and Henry Barber.
