A lightly edited transcription of a page 16 item in the 18 Apr 1918 Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

Pte. Stanley Wakeford arrived in town on Saturday evening from Toronto, where he has been in the hospital for a number of months.

He was received at the station by the member of his family, Mayor Sihler,
Deputy Reeve Langford, and a number
of friends.

Pte. Wakeford left Simcoe in the summer
of 1915 under Lieut. Geo. Curtis and was wounded in January of last year while in
the neighborhood of Ypres.

His father is also awaiting discharge
after being returned to this country
about two months ago. He enlisted
with the 133rd Battalion and was
wounded during the attack on Lens.
