A lightly edited partial transcription of the Vittoria column on page 10 of the 19 Dec 1918 issue of Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

The funeral of the late Absalom Dean took place last Friday afternoon from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jas. Cowan to the Presbyterian Cemetery. Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved ones.

The remains of the late Miss Linda Davis were brought her from Brantford for interment last Thursday. She passed away at the early age of 18 from an attack of influenza, followed by complications. She leaves to mourn her loss her parents and four sisters, to whom we extend our sincerest sympathy.

There passed to the Great Beyond last Sunday Mrs. James Smythe, who had been ill for a number of years with diabetes, the end coming suddenly. Deceased leaving to mourn her loss a loving husband and two daughters; her father; three brothers, Fred Farrar of Charlotteville, John of Simcoe, and Lance Farrar of New York; three sister, Mrs. W. F. Duncan of Charlotteville, Miss Isabella Farrar of Toronto, and Miss Gladys Farrar, nursing sister, overseas; besides a host of other relatives and friends, to whom we extend our heartfelt sympathy. The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon to St. John's Church, Woodhouse. Rev. H. I Johnson of Port Dover conducted the service.
