VanLoon--Wilson

A pretty wedding was solemnized on Tuesday afternoon, 8 Oct 1918, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred VanLoon of Waterford, when Miss Ruth Haviland Wilson, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wilson of Detroit, was united in marriage to Mr. Roy Glenmore VanLoon, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred VanLoon.

The ceremony was performed by Rev. Earle G. Dale of Boston, under a profusion of vine and flowers.

The bride was very prettily attired in white, carrying a shower bouquet of white roses. Her bridesmaid, Miss Mildred Haviland of Detroit, wore a dainty gown of pink and carried pink roses.

Mrs. Glenford Campbell played Lohengrin's Bridal Chorus, as the bride was escorted by her father to the drawing-room. The groomsman was Mr. Lorne Culver of Waterford.

After the ceremony the guests numbering over 30 sat down to a wedding dinner, where congratulations were extended to the newly wedded pair. The groom's present to the bride was a pearl necklace, to the bridesmaid a pearl pin and to the groomsman a pearl tie pin.

The happy couple left on the L. E. & N. from Lutesville where they were given a rousing send-off by the party accompanying them. The bride's going away suit was of wine color with hat to match. Upon their return they will reside at Boston.
