Shaw-Rider

A quiet but pretty wedding was solemnized Wednesday, 10 Dec 1917 at high noon, when Elsie, the only daughter of Mrs. R. Rider, was united in marriage to Lorne, the only son of Mr. W. Shaw.

The wedding took place in the home of the bridegroom's aunt, Mrs. [Threau] Mace.

The bride looked very becoming in a gown of white silk and georgette crepe, and carried a boquet of American Beauty roses and lilies of the valley.

She was attended by Miss Elsie Tales of Galt, who looked very dainty in a gown of shantung silk and carried a boquet of pink and white carnations, while the groom was attended by Mr. Frank Collins of St. Thomas.

The Rev. E. R. Fitch performed the ceremony in the presence of immediate relatives and friends.

After the ceremony the guests adjourned to [the home of] the bridegroom's aunt, Mrs. Harriett Abrams, where a most sumptuous dinner was served.

Many costly presents were received by the young people.
