The only death in the past week in the village 
from influenza was that of Pte. George Royal, 
aged 22 years.

Deceased was discharged as unfit for service, 
after an attack of typhoid fever. 

He was a Bernardo Home boy, brought up by 
Mr. and Mrs. Charles McAllister, at whose 
home he died, on Saturday last of pneumonia, 
following the influenza, after an illness of 
about 10 days. 

The funeral took place Monday at 10 a.m., 
Rev. F. Anderson officiated. Interment took 
place in Greenwood Cemetery.
