Partridge-McClain
Our Atherton correspondent
writes the following:
A quiet wedding was
solemnized at the home of
Mr. James McClain of Atherton on Wednesday,
3 Apr 1918 at 3 p.m., when his second daughter, Hattie, was united
in marriage to William Francis Partridge,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Partridge of Walsh.
The ceremony was performed
by Rev. N. A. Hurlbut
of Delhi.
The bride entered the
drawing room to the stains of
the Lohengrin Bridal Chorus, played by her sister,
Mrs. J. S. Botwright of Selkirk. She wore a gown of white crepe de
chene, trimmed with ivory satin and pearls and carried a bouquet of
white carnations and ferns.
She was attended by Miss
Sadie Partridge, sister of the groom, who wore a gown of burgundy
ninon over satin with gold trimmings and carried a bouquet of pink
and white roses.
Mr. Robt. Boyd of Langton
acted as groomsman.
The groom's gift to his
bride was a pearl sunburst. The bridesmaid and organist received
broaches and the groomsman a gold tie-pin.
After the ceremony a dainty
luncheon was served and the happy couple left for Hamilton and
Belleville, the bride travelling in a suit of battleship grey
gabardine with hat to match.
Upon their return Mr. and
Mrs. Partridge will be at home to their many friends at Walsh.
