Death of Alex Messacar

The funeral of Mr. Alex Messacar, an old and respected resident of Townsend Township, took place from his home in Simcoe, Monday, the 2nd inst., interment in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Messacar had been feeling particularly well of late and went to his bed on Friday evening as well as usual, but before morning the call came and he never awakened.

He was a man of quiet disposition, but with a very kindly heart.

He has two brothers surviving,             in Dunnville, and Walker of town. He was the youngest of the three, having not yet reached his 71st year. He leaves a widow, but no children, to mourn his departure.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Pinnock, pastor of the Baptist church, Simcoe, where his membership was, and Rev. E. R. Fitch of Waterford, his pastor until about a year ago.
