A lightly edited partial transcript of a column on page 1 of the 24 Oct 1918 Simcoe Reformer.

Mrs. Media and several children, living in the Empire Block, were reported last week to be suffering from the epidemic.

One little girl, Lillie, aged 7 years, died on 16 Oct 1918, and on Friday, when the Emergency Hospital was opened, the mother and one daughter, Frances Kate, were taken there for treatment.

The latter was then practically in a dying condition, and early Sunday morning, died at the hospital. The mother is still very ill, but other members of the family are recovering.

Pte. Stephen Joseph Medai, a member of the 133rd Battalion, has been on the fighting line for some months, and won distinction.

Rv. Father Nagle was the officiating clergyman at the funerals of the two girls.
