Death of Thomas Matthews

Thomas Matthews died at Watford, on 4 May 1917 at the home of his daughter-in-law Mrs. Colin Matthews.

Deceased, who was in his 88th year, was a son of the late Peter Matthews, and was born on the farm now occupied by Roland Harrett.

Mr. Matthews had enjoyed the best of health until he suffered a stroke of paralysis.

Deceased spent most of his life at Kinglake in Houghton Township, where he conducted a gist mill.

He leaves two daughters, Mrs. C. M. Brown of Corinth, and Mrs. Ed Kelly of Glen Myer, his wife having predeceased him some years ago.

He was a lifelong Methodist and was an active worker in all church matters.
