A lightly edited transcript of an item on page 1 of the 9 May 1918 issue of Waterford Star.

Mr. Joseph Langs died at his home just west of Waterford on Friday last.

He suffered for some weeks with cancer of the stomach and no hopes were entertained for his recovery.

He was born and always lived in Norfolk County and was a son of the late Alfred Langs and Rebecca Kitchen.

Several years ago he became a member of the Round Plains Baptist church.

A widow, four children, and brothers and sisters survive him. The funeral was held from his late residence on Monday afternoon.

Mr. Joseph Langs of Townsend passed away on Friday, 
3 May 1918. In the last four weeks he suffered greatly.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Langs and had always lived in Townsend. He was [6]0 years old.

The funeral services were held at the house, conducted by Rev. J. B. Moore, assisted by Revs. Fitch and Taylor. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Waterford.

He leaves to mourn his death a sorrowing widow and four little children, Leslie, Edward, Alfred and Nellie; also two brothers Hiram and Charles of Townsend, and two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Bauslaugh of Rockford and 
Mrs. Fletcher Sherk of Sherkton.
