A lightly edited partial transcription of the Langton column on page 15 of the 24 Apr 1919 issue of the Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

A highly respected resident of our community passed away on Wednesday 
16 Apr 1919, in the person of 
Mr. E. J. Hodson, at the age of 48 years.

Mr. Hodson came from England to this village 31 years ago, and had been a resident here practically ever since.

He clerked for Mr. Collings' store for a number of years, after which he became postmaster, an office which he retained till the time of his death. Besides being clerk of the township, he also served on the School Board and was very active in municipal matters.

He is survived by his wife and four children: Clarence, Ina, Willie and Hazel, all at home.

The funeral service was held on Saturday 
19 Apr 1919 at the Langton Baptist Church, of which the deceased was a member.

Among those who attended the funeral from a distance were: 
Mrs. Hannah and son Thomas of Corinth, 
Mr. and Mrs. Smith of Straffordville, 
Mr. and Mrs. Ascombe of Verschoyle, 
Mrs. D. Temple of Toronto, Mrs. Yokom, Mrs. G. Karl and W. Alexander of Tillsonburg.
