Former Simcoe Man Dead

William Robert Hodgson, second son of the late Edward and Grace Hodgson of Simcoe, died at his home in Saginaw Michigan on 
23 Nov 1918, aged 52 years.

Deceased was born and lived in Simcoe until he was 26 years of age. Just before that he was married to Ida, daughter of the late Lorenzo Pritchard, and with her as a bride, moved to Saginaw.

When a young lad he was employed at the Newton Challen carriage shop and later became expert in carriage finishing. 

When the motor car rage struck the State of Michigan, Mr. Hodgson became interested, and since then had followed the construction of automobiles.

He was prominent in the welfare of Saginaw, in lodge and church.

The funeral took place at Saginaw yesterday.

Besides a widow, he leaves one daughter, Hazel, three sisters, Mrs. Bailey of Leamington, Mrs. Derbyshire of Wheatley, and Mrs. Wilson of Toronto; and three brothers, Nile of Toronto, James of Detroit, and David of Bracebridge.
