former resident of simcoe dead

There recently passed away Mrs. Robert Beverley Matheson, whose maiden name was Margaret Durward, a native of Simcoe, Ontario.

After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Matheson removed to Montana, and subsequently to British Columbia. For the past three years they have made their home on a farm near Breedsville, Michigan.

Mrs. Matheson was a lady of fine literary culture and she endeared herself to all with whom she came in contact.

The respect in which she was held by her neighbors was attested by the large concourse that attended her funeral in a sparsely populated farming district, and in the closing of the local school during the obsequies.

The bereaved husband is a nephew of Robert Matheson, the first editor of this paper. -- Chicago Canadian-American.

"Bev." Matheson and Maggie Durward grew up in Simcoe and her untimely death will be sad news to many old friends and schoolmates who read The Reformer in various parts of the world.
