The Late Mrs. Hillis

Mrs. Louis Hillis (nee Ettie V. Dennis) died at the Windsor Hospital after having undergone a serious operation, on Tuesday, 25 Jun 1918 at three o'clock.

She was born 26 years ago in the township of Townsend, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Dennis of Simcoe.

Deceased had been in poor health for a number of years.

Her physician thought it necessary to perform a slight operation for the removal of a growth, which proved
to be of a serious nature, and which specialists were unable to diagnose.

On 23 Dec 1914 she was united in marriage to
Mr. Louis Hillis of Dresden, former of Simcoe.
They lived in Dresden for one year, moving from
there to Walkerville, where Mr. Hillis had a position
with the Ford Motor Co.

The remains were brought to Simcoe to her father's home, Hillside Fruit Farm, for burial on 28 Jun 1918, internment being made in Oakwood Cemetery.

Deceased was a faithful member of the Methodist Church, having joined at the age of fiftteen at
Bethlehem, Windham.

She was a loving wife and mother, and made many
loyal friends.

She leaves to mourn her loss a sorrowing father and mother, two brothers and two sisters:
Mrs. Lewis Scott of Windham,
Miss Zella of the Bell Telephone staff in Simcoe,
Earl of Charlotteville, and Archie at home,
who have the sympathy of the whole community
in their sad bereavement.
