Mrs.
Terry received a phone message on Wednesday of last week telling
her of the death of her brother, Joseph W. DeFields, at Ripley,
N.Y.
He was a resident of
Buffalo, N.Y. and motored to Ripley last August to visit his son.
He had been sick over a year, but was able to travel about in his
car.
Another message told her
that the funeral was to be on Saturday, 14 Feb 1925, from his
daughter's home at Buffalo, with interment at Tonawanda Cemetery.
He was 77 years old, and
while a young man lived a number of years in Simcoe and vicinity,
where he had many friends.
He was a Baptist.
Mrs. Terry attended the
funeral and returned Monday. Not being well, she found the journey
very trying, and has been quite prostrated since.
Two sons and three
daughters are left to mourn the loss of a kind and devoted father.
There are also three brothers surviving:
C. E. DeFields of Waterford,
R. H. of Tonawanda,
J. B. of Niagara Falls.
Mrs. Terry of Waterford is the only sister.
