A lightly edited partial transcription of the Local Interest column on page 8 of the 7 Nov 1918 Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

Last Thursday saw the death of Mrs. Daniel Broughton at the Emergency Hospital, after an illness of several days' duration from influenza-pneumonia, in her 25th year.

She and her husband and several children had been taken to the hospital for care a day or two before, but Mrs. Broughton, whose constitution was impaired by a serious illness earlier in the year, became a victim of the disease.

The husband still lies very ill at the hospital, while all the children but one have been discharged as better.

Mrs. Broughton is a sister of the late Eric Carter, who died from the same disease a fortnight before at the hospital.

Four young children and Mr. Broughton survive.

Mrs. Broughton's mother, Mrs. Carter, is a convalescent after a severe attack of influenza.
