Parted by Death
A union of almost 62 years
was severed in Simcoe on Friday in the death of Mary Ann Glee, wife
of John Bamforth, 136 Robinson street. Mrs. Bamforth who was in her
87th year, had been ill for about two weeks.
She was born in England, the
daughter of Thomas Glyee and Francis Simpson.
About 50 years ago the
family came to Canada and resided in Orillia and Stratford and later
in Vancouver. For the past 22 years they have lived in Simcoe.
Mrs. Bamforth was a member
of Fern Rebekah Lodge and Trinity Anglican church.
Two years ago Mr. and Mrs.
Bamforth spent several months in England, visiting relatives in
Lincoln.
Besides her husband, she is
survived by one son, Thomas Henry Bamforth of Vancouver, B.C., two
daughters, Mrs. Harold Eatwell and Mrs. Dorothy Blackwell of Simcoe,
and one sister, Mrs. Walter Wells, Lincoln, England.
A son, George Bamforth of
Simcoe, predeceased her many years ago.
The funeral was held this
afternoon from her late residence under the auspices of Fern Rebekah
Lodge. Rev. W. E. V. McMillen officiated.
The pallbearers were Henry
R. Crabb, A. Jaques,
Arthur Baker, Alfred Johnson, William Eatwell and
Jack McCarthy. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery.
