A Beautiful Home Wedding
of well-known Simcoe girl

A very pretty home wedding took place yesterday afternoon at 2.30 at the home of Mr. Robert Gunton, police magistrate, Simcoe, and Mrs. Gunton, when their eldest daughter, Miss Annie Elizabeth Gunton, was united in marriage to Mr. Alanson Cornelius Avery, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Avery, 8 Victoria Street, Brantford.

Mr. Ross R. Deagle of Queen's University, Kingston, acted as groomsman, while the bridesmaid was Miss Rhea Row of Woodhouse.

The house was very prettily decorated with flowers. The ceremony was performed before a bank of white chrysanthemums and the dining room was decorated with gold and white chrysanthemums.

The bride entered [on] the arm of her father to the strains of Lohengrin's wedding march, played by Mrs. (Dr.) John Gunton, sister-in-law of the bride.

The bride looked very pretty in a gown of white georgette over white silk, with a vail, mantilla style, handsomely embroidered with silk and peoples, and caught up with orange blossoms, and white heather. She carried a shower bouquet of Ophelia roses and baby chrysanthemums.

The bridesmaid wore apricot crepe de chine and a black picture hat, and carried a sheaf of sunburst roses.

The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. C. Newcombe, B.A., assisted by the Rev. A. J. Loveday of Boston, cousin of the bride.

While the marriage register was being signed, Mrs. Thomas [Kivell] of Lynden, sister of the bridegroom, sang very beautifully, "All Joy Be Thine."

After the ceremony, a buffet lunch was served, and the happy couple left amid showers of confetti, by the 5.07 car on the L. E. and N. Railway for Chicago and points west. The bride travelled in a smart brown dress with a wrap coat of reindeer brown satin broadcloth with sable, with a hot of bisque and brown duvetyn to match.

On their return they will reside at 90 Kent Street.

Guests to the number of about 70 were present from Brantford, Guelph, Galt, Hespeler, Paris, Strathroy, Boston, Kingston London, Toronto and Buffalo, as well as from Simcoe and the county.

The bride was the recipient of a large number of very beautiful and useful presents, which were on display.

The Reformer joins with a host of friends in wishing the happy couple a long life and happiness.
