BROWN-ABBOTT

An interesting event occurred on Thursday, 25 Apr 1918 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. Nichols, when their niece, Miss Florence Abott [sic], daughter of Private H. and Mrs. Abbott of Port Rowan, was united in marriage to
Mr. Bruce Brown, also of Port Rowan.

Rev. H. Brand, officiated.

The bride was becomingly attired in pale blue satin with pearl trimmings and the customary veil and orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of white Killarney roses.

The bride entered the drawing room to the strains of Mendelssohn's wedding march, played by Miss Vida Graham, and was given away by her uncle, Mr. Nichols. The ceremony was performed under an arch of evergreen and roses.

After a dainty buffet luncheon the happy couple left amid showers of confetti for Hamilton and points west, the bride travelling in a suit of navy blue, with hat and shoes of grey.

Upon their return, Mr. and Mrs. Brown will reside near Port Rowan.
