The deputy registrar-general has notified municipal registrars they will be prosecuted and fined unless monthly returns of births and deaths are submitted. The absolute indifference of many officials is rendering proper statistics very difficult.

Hon. John Charlton has been invited by the New York Chamber of Commerce to address its members on Canadian and American trade relations.

A very charming house wedding was solemnized at the home of Mr. George Mitchell of Scotland, at 12 o'clock on Wednesday 23 Oct 1901. The contracting parties were Mr. Charlton D. Robinson of Waterford, and Miss Fannie Mitchell of Scotland, supported respectively by Mr. Dell W. Trotter of Buffalo, N.Y., and Miss Kate Mitchell, sister of the bride.
