A very pleasing event took place at the residence of R. A. Nixon, Renton, the occasion being a birthday celebration in honor of Mrs. Robt. H. Nixon, who attained the remarkable age of 93 years, a few days ago, and who was warmly congratulated by a large circle of relatives and friends on her wonderful good health and spirits.

Among those present was her son, Robert B. Nixon, who journeyed from Norfolk, Va., to be present, and E. W. Bauslaugh of Grimsby; Mr. and Mrs. John Shand, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Shand and Miss Flossie Shand, Wm. R. and Charles Shand, near Port Dover; Louis W. Nixon of Toronto; Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Baker of Simcoe; Mr. and Mrs. John Hare, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hair, and Fred W. Monteith of Edmonton, Alta.

After a bountiful repast, completing a day of pleasant social intercourse, the party broke up with many cordial expression of good-will to the guest of the day, and appreciation of the kindly courtesy of the hostesses, Mrs. W. L. Nixon and Mrs. R. A. Nixon.
