Waterford lost one of its oldest residents on Monday, Sept. 7 in
the death of Charles G. Murray who passed away at his home on College
Street.
Mr. Murray was born in Waterford eighty-seven years ago, and was
the son of the late William Murray and Esther Pegg.
He had lived in this vicinity all his life and was a cabinet maker
by trade, but for a number of years had been in failing health and has
not been able to work. Lately when he was able to be around he would
be in a wheel chair.
He married Mary Ann Smith on Dec. 10th, 1868, who predeceased him
in 1879. Later he was married to Mary E. Mabee who died Feb. 26th
1917. Of these unions, three sons survive, Wm. D. Murray and George W.
Murray of Saginaw, Mich. and Clarence L. Murray of Bay City,
Mich.
Three grandsons also survive, James F. Murray of Detroit, Mich., Dr.
Charles Murray, Saginaw, Mich., and John Murray, Bay City, Mich.
He was the last of his family, two brothers, Wesley and Wallace
having predeceased him.
He was a member for over forty years of the Canadian Order of
Chosen Friends lodge.
The funeral was held from his late home on Wednesday afternoon,
Sept. 9th, at 2 o'clock with Rev. Inns officiating. Interment was in
Greenwood Cemetery.

of Saginaw, Mich., Mr. C. L. Murray of Bay City, Mich. and Mr. and
Mrs. W. D. Murray of Saginaw, Mich.
