Killed By His Mower

Mr. William Montgomery of Windham township, met with an accident on Saturday last which resulted in his death, while mowing on his farm near Nixon.

He lived alone, and no one was very near him at the time, and the details cannot be known of a certainty. The accident was only discovered in the evening, when neighbors noticed that his horses has been standing for a long time in a farm corner. It is thought that he started out after dinner to mow, and on his first time around fell from the mower and under the machine, which passed over his body, cutting his legs and chest badly.

His fall may have been the result of the heat, or he may have had a fit, he being subject to them. He was in his 71st year, and unmarried. Dr. McIntosh, coroner, being notified, made an investigation, and finding the facts as above, certified that an inquest was not necessary.
