Golden Wedding

The beautiful home of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar McMichael, Waterford, was a scene of activity and splendor Christmas Day, when they celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary by entertaining about sixty of their relatives and friends.

Mr. McMichael is a grandson of James McMichael who came from Pennsylvania to Norfolk over one hundred years ago. James McMichael had eight sons and Mr. O. McMichael is a son of William. Mr. O. McMichael was born near Boston and lived in Townsend until he moved to Waterford 25 years ago. Mrs. McMichael is the daughter of the late Levi Lewis, who was one of the pioneers of this district. She also was born in Townsend and has always lived there.

One unique feature was the number of guests present who attended the wedding 50 years ago. They were Mrs. Geo. Gillesby, Mrs. Henry S[eales], Dr. Lewis, Mrs. O. A. Beamer, Miss Dora McMichael, Mrs. N. W. Pursel, and Mr. R. J. Somers. Five of these drove to Brantford with the bride and groom.

Miss Wilcox of this town was numbered among the guests.
