Late Mrs. Hugh A. Collver

This aged and esteemed lady terminated a life of unassuming piety and good deeds at her home on Brock Street, Simcoe, late on Wednesday evening of last week.

Mrs. Collver, who was the widow of Mr. Hugh A. Collver, a long-time resident of Colborne village, was born Catherine McIntyre at Queenston, in the year 1837.

Both she and her husband were enthusiastic and consistent members of the Methodist Church and greatly concerned in all its interests.

Mr. Collver was especially prominent in the ranks of the Norfolk Sunday School Association.

Some time after the death of Mr. Collver the family moved into town, purchasing a home on Brock Street, from Mr. J. Rutherford. Here the gentle spirit took its flight at the hour above mentioned.

The funeral took place to Oakwood on Friday afternoon, the service was in charge of Dr. Benson, who was assisted by three other clergymen, all of whom had been pastors of the deceased. They were Rev. J. Parker Bell of Simcoe, Rev. W. H. Garnham, M.A., of Old Windham, and Rev. A. W. Shepperson of Lynden.

The family surviving comprises Mr. Archie M. Collver of Windham, Mrs. Cameron Smith of Colborne village, Miss Maude Collver off the Simcoe public school staff, and Misses Mildred and Annie at home.

Two grandsons, Roy and Ross, twin sons of Mr. Archie Collver, are in khaki in the 133rd Battalion, C.E.F.
