The
late Bartley McInally who died at his home in Niagara Falls, Ont., on
Tuesday, September 13, was a former Norfolk County man, and known here
most favorably by almost everyone.
The deceased came
to his death after a lengthy illness, having been a hard sufferer from
rheumatism, which has incapacitated him for the last four and a half
years. Last March his rheumatism left him and he had a measure of
health for a short time, but later in the spring dropsy set in and for
some time lately he had been unable to leave his chair, where he has had
to sit and suffer.
Bartley McInally
was one of a large family who grew up at Lynnville, where he pursued
the life of a farmer until about sixteen years ago, when he moved to
Leamington, engaging there in the furniture and undertaking business
for about three years. Afterwards he moved to Niagara Falls, where he
carried on a building and contracting business until his illness
became too severe.
The body was
brought to Simcoe on the eleven o'clock G.T.R. train last Thursday and
proceeded to Lynnville where interment took place in the family plot. The
services were conducted by Rev. W. H. Garnham in the Methodist church,
an edifice the deceased helped to erect after having given the land
for the site.
The deceased was
71 years of age, and leaves a wife, one son and three daughters. His
only son is Edward McInally of Niagara Falls; and his daughters Mrs.
John Cullen of Carleton Place; Mrs. R. O. Blayney and Miss Carrie
McInally of Niagara Falls. Edward McInally of Simcoe is the only
surviving brother, and Mrs. Jacob Bauslaugh of Windham, is the only
sister.
Six nephews of
the deceased acted as pall bearers, their names being as follows:
George and Ross Hoylock of Norwich;
A. Bauslaugh, Windham; Wm.
McInally, Lynnville; and
Isaac and W. W. McInally of Simcoe.
