Obituary

Delhi Reporter. -- We chronicle this week the death of the oldest man in the Township of Windham, in the person of Mr. John Lindsay, who was some days over [..] years of age.

Deceased came from Kirkcudbrightshire, in the south of Scotland, and was one of the strong Scotch Pioneers who settled in Canada in the early days, undertaking the laborious task of hewing out a home amid the timber.

Mr. Lindsay never knew a sick day and was free from pain till the last.

He had a family of six sons and two daughters all of whom, except one, survive him.

Deceased was a member of the Church of Scotland, and subsequently the Presbyterian Church in Simcoe, but in later years attended the Bethel Methodist Church, two miles an a half east of his residence, where the interment took place, and a service was conducted by the Rev.
