There was one sad affair to mar
the pleasures of July 1st. As Mr. George Limage of Boston was on his way
to the Fair grounds he was taken with a fainting spell and laid down on
the grass near the residence of Mr. D. A. Marlatt on West street.
Just how long he laid there is not
known, but when found he was in an exhausted condition and only retained
consciousness a few minutes. He died in less than half an hour in spite of
all medical aid could do.
Heart disease was the cause of
death. It seems he has had one or two similar spells before.
His remains were taken to the
undertaking establishment of Messrs. Pursel & Son and the next day
conveyed to his late residence at Boston.
A messenger was at once sent to
deliver the sad news to his wife and family. Little do we know of the
sorrow of an affectionate wife's heart when receiving the news of her
beloved husband's sudden death.
The funeral took place on Sunday
afternoon to Boston cemetery. Court Boston No. 47, C.O.F., attended in a
body. A number of Foresters' from this place and Oakland were in
attendance. The services were conducted in the church by Rev. S. G.
Harris.
The deceased was a
highly esteemed member of Court Boston and was always a regular attendant.
Services were held in the church after interment. The funeral was largely
attended. The bereaved family have the sympathies of a large circle of
friends.
