Mr. George
Johnson, who has been suffering for several weeks from an injury which
he had received in July, and which developed into gangrene, and also
from dropsy, passed peacefully away at his late home, Evergreen Farm,
Saturday evening, 4th inst, and was interred in Zion cemetery on
Monday afternoon, 6th inst.

Christ as his Savior and joined the Methodist church at Tweedside. He
was a Sabbath School teacher and steward in the church and later
joined the Wilsonville church, of which he was a consistent member,
and during his illness made inquiries of his pastor, Rev. A. Springer,
how the church was prospering.

loving brother and a kind neighbor. With a patience and peace rarely
if ever surpassed, he bore his suffering without a murmur.

outer eye but present yet to the inner sight.
