Hunter - Rogers

On the 7th of June the residence of Mr. Henry Rogers, Bealton, was the scene of a happy gathering of one hundred and fifty invited guests, the occasion being the marriage of his eldest daughter, Evy, to Mr. Edward Hunter, all of Townsend.

The ceremony was performed at 3 o'clock by the Rev. S. G. Harris under an arch of evergreen decorated with flowers.

The bride looked charming in a white silk gown trimmed with pearls and lace, with talle [sic] covering the entire dress, draped with orange blossoms. She carried in her hand a shief [sic] of white carnations.

Her sister, Miss Mina Rogers, acted as bridesmaid and was dressed most becomingly in a gown of pink Lansdowne with lace and pearl trimmings and carrying in her hand a shief [sic] of pink carnations.

The groom was ably supported by his brother, Mr. Thos. Hunter. Miss Grace Marshall of Hamilton, played the wedding march, and Miss Tena Hunter and Miss Ethel Johnston acted as reception maids.

After the ceremony the young couple received the congratulations of their many friends.

The presents were exceptionally costly and handsome, including a gold watch and chain, a gift of the groom to the bride, and a gold ring to the bridesmaid.

After an elaborate dinner was served on the lawn, the happy couple left for Brantford, Buffalo and points east, amid a shower of rice and the good wishes of all.
